The Leader in Youth Program

The Leader in Youth Program (LYP) is a 40-hour program targeting low-income high-school and middle-school-aged youth. CSL teaches low-income youth Five Critical Skill Areas that enable them to learn the leadership skills necessary to identify and pursue the careers of their choice and to find and sustain themselves in healthy, meaningful careers. For descriptions of these Five Critical Skill Areas, click here.

The mission of The Center for Social Leadership is two-fold: To build the leadership and managerial capacity of nonprofit organizations; and to teach low-income youth the necessary career-building leadership skills to design their own exit strategies from poverty.
